Discover the greatness in you

When my first daughter was born, I felt total love and infinity for the world.  I wanted to share the love I had for her with everyone.  The greatest mentor I ever had was my grandma…..and I couldn’t wait for to meet my daughter.  When the two of them were together, I said to my grandma “You are a Great Grandma”.  To that my grandma said, “I am already great…..we all are”.    Sometimes we forget that the most powerful force in the world is our love….which is our greatness.

This short video is amazing.  Discover the greatness in you.

Do you have ABUNDANCE in your life?

Does your cup runneth over?

In Social Networking the people who are wildly success are the ones who are constantly giving.  This is a powerful story and illustration as to why this principle works.   This is a powerful story I found with the author unknown.  I would love to give credit to whomever wrote this as I find it a brilliant illustration of abundance versus scarcity.

A young man was talking with a very wise man and said, “How would you describe the difference between abundance and scarcity?

The Wise Man led the young man to two doors.  He opened one of the doors and the young man looked in.

In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the young man’s mouth water.  The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful. But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The young man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.

The Wise Man said, ‘You have seen scarcity. They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one.

There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the young man’s mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump,   laughing and talking.   The young man said, ‘I don’t understand.  ’It is simple,’ said the Wise Man. ‘It requires but one skill to be abundant.  You see, they have learned to feed each other.

The greedy think only of themselves and therefore live in scarcity.  The giving live in abundance.’

Create a breakthrough possibility for you RIGHT NOW

This past weekend, I got to speak on the stage with one of the greatest motivators in the world, Les Brown.  Thanks to Maurice DiMino (www.MauriceDiMino.com), I was able to meet and teach business professionals a Social Networking strategy so they can get more results.  The funny thing is this….most professionals know they need to do Social Networking and yet they do nothing because they don’t know how to make a simple shift in their business.

After hearing Les Brown speak, I saw where I was holding myself back and where I could step into my power.  In 90 minutes, Les Brown, changed my life.  They say ‘When the student is ready, the teacher will appear”.  Ironically, I was to meet and speak on the stage with Les Brown over 2 years ago but since I was pregnant with my 2nd child, I could not travel to the engagement.  Makes me think that maybe “I wasn’t ready”.

Since hearing Les Brown, I made a promise to myself that I would listen to one positive and motivational piece of information a day.  Since Les Brown impacted me so much in a short amount of time, I have choosen to learn from him.

In this short video clip, Les Brown, shares one simple thing we can do so we can stay focused on our goals.  He said, “how many of you have a goal that you have had a setback or many setbacks and maybe completely given up”?  Makes you think, doesn’t it.

If you are like me, time is what I need most.  What I love about Les Brown, is that in just 10 minutes I was able to learn one thing that will help me shift my entire life.  I invite you to learn with me as I find great pieces to learn from this amazing human being.  Please share your favorite Les Brown videos with me.  You can learn more about Les Brown by going to www.LesBrown.com.  I will be interviewing him soon so if you are interested in being part of that private call, please enter your name and email on the right side of this blog.

Today all you have to do is say “It’s Possible”.  Find out what makes this so powerful in this short video.

Give your very best

The only obstacles standing in your life is YOU.  You can do anything you put your mind to.  My grandma taught me this.

Our expectations of what we are capable of doing holds us back.   I can remember bringing home all A’s and a B from high school and my father said, “Sounds like you have more work to do”.  At the time, I really took that hard.  I made it mean that he didn’t appreciate my grades.  Later, I realized he knew that I could do better.  He didn’t allow my mediocrity to become a reality.  The next semester I brought home all A’s and one A-.  My dad, said, “I knew you could do it….just a little more and you will be there”.

This powerful video is a great reminder about how we need to “Negotiate with our body to give more and to never ever quit!”  Sometimes we just need someone else to remind us that we have more to give.  “If you walk around defeated then everyone else around you will too!”  You have to “Give your very best”.  My mentor Joel Bauer often reminds me that “The only person I am competing with is myself”.

How are you going to push yourself today? Please share where you get your inspiration.

What really matters…

"Together Everyone Wins"

"Together Everyone Wins"

Sometimes we get so focused on generating business that we forget to step back and really look at the big picture.  Every once in awhile I like to publish stories to make sure our hearts are in the right place.  This true story always reminds me of what really matters.  Making money is not what motivates us.  It is something much bigger than ourselves.  If we continue to pay attention to what really motivates us, we will always win.

Based on a true story….
It
was the biggest race of their lives. They had spent months and months in training. Now, 9 athletes stood at the starting line for the 100 yard dash. There were hundreds of people watching them in the stands.

When the gun was shot, all the racers got off to a good start. Each racer was committed to finishing the race. In a matter of seconds, one of the racers stumbled and fell to the ground.

Remarkably, another one of the racers stopped and went back to make sure the fallen racer was okay. It was as if you could feel his defeat. When he began to cry, his fellow racer put his arm around him and told him “It will be okay”.

The other racers noticed what happened. They slowed down and one by one turned around to come back to the crying boy. One of the racers came back and kissed him on the forehead and said, “This will make it better”

Then all nine racers stood up, linked arms and walked together to the finish line. Everyone in the stadium stood and the cheering went on for several minutes.

These highly trained and competitive racers showed what the true spirit of the game is. This was one of the biggest races of their lives. It was the Special Olympics.

This was a powerful lesson for everyone who attended The Seattle Special Olympics. People who were there are still telling the story… Why? Because deep down we know this one thing:

What matters in this life is more than winning for ourselves.
What matters in this life is helping others win, even if it means slowing down and changing our course.

Think about this…..

In life it is not about who finishes the race first.

In life it is about every racer finishing together.

What are you racing to do?  Who are you leaving behind while you are moving so fast? Do you have a story or quote that keeps you in check with your priorities?  Please comment.
